THE Toronto Star reported Canadian scientists had dug to a depth of 10 feet in a remote area and found traces of copper wire dating back 200 years. They concluded their ancestors already had a telephone network in 1810.

The Washington Post reported a week later that American paleontologists had dug to a depth of 20 feet on the outskirts of New York and found traces of copper wire. They concluded their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network 50 years before the Canadians.

The Times of England reported a week later that Jack Arkwright, a self-taught archaeologist, had dug to a depth of 30 feet on the outskirts of Elland and found … absolutely nothing. Jack therefore concluded that 250 years ago, Britain had already gone wireless!
