FRANCIE’S Final Fling. Who else could it be but the inimitable Doreen France, rallying her friends together to put on one more concert for charity.

Doreen, who was awarded the MBE more than a decade ago for her charity work, has long combined her talents as a performer, choreographer and director to help those in need.

She’s renowned across the region for her stage skills and has wowed audiences in musicals and shows in many theatres.

But she has never been shy of using those talents – and her many contacts – to raise tens of thousands of pounds for charity.

This weekend will see the last of her Doreen France and Friends’ shows at the Lawrence Batley Theatre.

The three performances are packed with singers, dancers and lots of fun.

Doubtless hundreds will turn out once again to support a woman who is simply remarkable.

Yes, she loves the lights, the glitter, the frocks, the audiences. But she’s always got a cause tucked up her sleeve and if she can entertain you while making money for charity, she’ll do it.

It’s hard to imagine Doreen not being centre stage in these shows in the years to come, but she’ll always be a star as far as audiences are concerned. Thanks a million Doreen.
