Workers at a sky-high landmark rose to the challenge to bake cakes for charity.

Staff from Emley Moor Mast took part in a “bake off” for the third year to raise cash for the Prince’s Trust Million Makers Challenge.

The culinary contributions were judged by the head chef at the 3 Acres, Tom Davies, chefs Jason Rhodes and Chris France-Smith from 315 at Lepton, and a retired mast manager, Tim Varga.

Paul French, head of field operations for Arqiva, who run the mast, said: “The standard of baking was very high, with Mary Brooke taking the honours with her pecan cheesecake.

“David Allatt and Lubo Tekev were worthy runners-up.

“All three go forward to the Arqiva grand finale at the company’s headquarters in Winchester.”

Paul added: “After the judging came the eating, with over £110 raised for the Million Makers.

“Thanks again for all who supported the bakers and everyone who purchased their labours.”

The Million Makers Challenge is an entrepreneurial competition that bids to build companies’ team working and project management skills while raising cash for charity at the same time.
