A Lindley restaurant is in the running for a top award.

Eric’s Restaurant has been shortlisted by Yorkshire Life magazine in its Neighbourhood Restaurant of the Year category.

The shortlist was compiled following several months of research by a panel of independent judges.

They sampled restaurants across Yorkshire in their search for excellent food and service.

The fine-dining eatery, which is based in Lidget Street, was established in November 2010.

Since opening it has received a number of awards and accolades.

It is currently the North East’s Regional Restaurant of the Year, as voted for by readers of the Good Food Guide.

Eric Paxman, proprietor and head chef at Eric’s, said: “Since setting up nearly three years ago, we’ve worked hard to establish Eric’s as a high-quality neighbourhood restaurant.

“It’s fantastic that our efforts have been recognised in this shortlist and to see the restaurant featured alongside some of the top eateries, hotels and suppliers in Yorkshire.

“We’re looking forward to the awards ceremony and wish everyone on the shortlist the very best of luck.”

The Neighbourhood Restaurant of the Year award is one of 12 categories in Yorkshire Life’s Food and Drink Awards 2013.

The awards celebrate the diversity and quality of hospitality businesses across the region.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on October 7 at Rudding Park Hotel and Spa in Harrogate.
