It's an essential page-turner for true food fans.

And now Eric’s Restaurant is celebrating its debut appearance in the renowned Michelin Guide.

The Lindley-based venue is the only restaurant in Huddersfield to feature in the dining bible.

The fine dining eatery on Lidget Street only opened three years ago.

Updated every year, the guide includes restaurants and hotels that have been researched by professional inspectors.

Only those that are highly recommended get to feature in the guide.

Exceptional restaurants are awarded the star rating – one of the highest honours in the industry.

Since opening Eric’s has received a number of accolades and awards.

It recently scooped Neighbourhood Restaurant of the Year at the Yorkshire Life Food and Drink Awards.

Recipes from the restaurant are also included in the exclusive Relish cookbook.

Head chef and proprietor Eric Paxman said: “We’ve been open for less than three years so are delighted to have been recognised already in the Michelin Guide, seen by so many as the gourmet dining bible.

“We always strive for excellence at the restaurant so are determined to build on this success.

“Hopefully we will achieve our ultimate goal of a Michelin star in the near future.”

The Michelin Guide was first published in 1900.

It is often referred to as the ‘Red Guide’, as a reference to its iconic red cover.
