AN EVENT aimed at helping businesses forge links has also boosted a charity.

The Linking Lindley evening took place last Saturday at Heritage Exchange on Plover Road.

People from local businesses got the chance to meet.

They donned glamorous outfits and enjoyed entertainment as well as food and drinks.

All proceeds from the night were given to local charity Ruddi’s Retreat.

The charity helps families with seriously ill children have access to a holiday home for free.

It was set up by Ali Jones, of Linthwaite, after her son Ruddi battled cancer as a baby.
