BRIGHOUSE

Brighouse Art Circle, February 9 and 16, Scenes of Yorkshire. Art classes at Waring Green Community Centre, Brighouse, at 7.30pm.

Kids Saturday Art Club, February 11 and 25. Art club for eight-12-year-olds who can use the town’s art gallery for inspiration to create pieces of art. Art club at Smith Art Gallery, 10.30am-12.30pm. Admission £5 and book on 01422 352334, or e-mail jeffrey.andrews@calderdale.gov.uk.

ELLAND

Join the fun at the one-mile Teddy Toddle or three-mile Ogden Stomp in aid of Elland-based Overgate Hospice. The Teddy Toddle, a stroll around Ogden Water with your favourite teddy, takes place between 11.30am and 12.30pm on March 11. Book in advance for £3 for adults and £1 for children or on the day for £5 for adults and £2 for children at www.overgatehospice.org.uk

Tickets are on sale for the Overgate Hospice Choir annual hymn sing with guest conductor Dr Gordon Stewart and organist Simon Lindley. The event is in support of the Elland-based hospice and takes place at Brighouse Central Methodist Church on March 31 and tickets are £8 from 01422 345414.

STAINLAND

Enjoy a walk through Stainland and the deer farm. Sunday February 12 at 10.30am. Meet Judy Gannon (01422 823491) of the Calderdale Ramblers Association for the seven mile, moderate, circular walk. Meet at Stainland car park, next to Red Lion pub.

CALDERDALE

Walk the Calderdale Way on Wednesday February 22 for a 7.5 mile walk. Meet Alan Greenwood at 10.30am outside Hebden Bridge Tourist Information Centre for a walk to Heptonstall before following the Calderdale Way to Churn Milk Joan. Return to Hebden Bridge via footpaths along the valley.
