Families had fun at a fair held in aid of a befriending service for older people.

The Winter Fun Day took place at the Jubilee Centre in Paddock.

There were market stalls, vintage games with prizes, arts and crafts, a tombola, henna tattoos and tea and cake.

The crowds were entertained by Jeff Lawson, who sang and played well known songs aimed at all ages.

The day was organised by the Royal Voluntary Service, which is based at Paddock Village Hall.

The local service aims to help older people maintain their independence and stay involved in the local community.

It runs the Good Neighbours befriending scheme, where a volunteer can go into an isolated person’s house once a week to keep them company.

The service also offers other schemes including the Home from Hospital where volunteers help a patient who has just come out of hospital for up to 12 weeks.
