THE boss of a Cleckheaton firm will be lacing up his cycling shoes and taking to the saddle in preparation for a mammoth charity cycle ride.

Avid Huddersfield Town fan Jon Ellis, of Ferno (UK), will join 300 other fundraisers pedalling from Yeovil to Huddersfield in support of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s ‘Keep It Up’ campaign. The Pink Link Pedal for Pounds 3 bike ride will be Town’s third charity cycle ride.

The 280-mile ride begins at Yeovil on the morning of Wednesday, May 2, and ends at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday, May 5, before Town’s last home game of the season.

Said Jon: “I took part in the Huddersfield to Brighton cycle ride last year for the Keep It Up Campaign. This year I hope to raise at least £2,500 through my Just Giving page.”

Ferno makes and supplies medical equipment to the emergency services, hospitals and other major industries.
