Staff and parents at a Fixby day nursery are buzzing with excitement.

They have just heard that Fixbees has been given a huge vote of confidence – and a 1-Outstanding rating from Ofsted.

Manager Angie Baggley said: “We are ecstatic. We have an excellent rapport with parents and the staff team and I are passionate about nursery – we work very well together and Ofsted could see that.

“Children like the family atmosphere and caring staff and we have children from many extended families coming here.”

This was the first inspection since the Fixby Road nursery re-registered as Fixby Day Care earlier this year after the owners formed a limited company.

For the previous 19 years it was known as Fix-bees Private Day Nursery and received a 2-Good rating two years ago.

In the latest report, inspector Hayley Gardiner praised Fixbees and its staff in every area, stating: “Children thrive and make rapid progress in all areas of their learning and development because all staff are extremely knowledgeable.

“All staff are fully committed to making sure that each child has their individual needs catered for extremely well to enable them to learn new skills, play and have fun.

“Children behave extremely well and have an excellent connection with staff and their peers.

“There is a buzzing atmosphere where practitioners are pro-active and passionate about childcare; their energy is infectious having an extremely positive impact on both other practitioners and children.

“Children’s needs are outstandingly well met through highly effective partnerships between the nursery, parents and outside agencies.”
