THE Friends of Tolson and Ravensknowle are holding a Christmas cracker at Tolson Museum on Sunday December 16.

As well as the sweet-sounding voices of Dalton Junior School choir the Friends have scored a coup in persuading celebrated author Joanne Harris – writer of Chocolat – to attend.

The fun starts at 1pm and lasts until 4pm. Entry is free but organisers are hoping people will buy from the various stalls.

Friends chairman Ann Denham said: “There will be chocolate and craft stalls and Father Christmas will be making his appearance in a vintage car.

“We have absolutely no idea how many people will come but we have invited local groups from the area to come and enjoy the afternoon.

“Although we only launched in May we are very busy.

“I did think the museum would benefit from such a group - for one thing it helps with bids for funding.”
