Girl Guides’ officials in Huddersfield are looking for more volunteers.

They need people to help so that Guides can enjoy new experiences.

The organisation urges people of all backgrounds and with no prior experience to volunteer for their local group.

With over a thousand 14-15-year-old guides across Kirklees and Calderdale and numbers growing, more volunteers are needed desperately.

Julie Booth, a volunteer in Huddersfield, said “Volunteering with Girl Guiding gives me a great deal of pride especially when I think of how much the girls in my group have grown in confidence in the time I've known them.

“I've also become more confident myself and the skills and experiences I have gained through guiding have really influenced my life.”

Skills such as marketing, event planning, finance and administration and needed.
