A former pit village is hosting its first scarecrow contest.
Grange Moor Community Association is inviting villagers to try their hand at building a straw man, or woman, ahead of official judging at the end of the month.
To enter collect a form available in the shop, the post office or at the Grange, return it to one of the collection boxes – then display your scarecrow within the village.
It is hoped a scarecrow trail will be launched from Tuesday September 23.
Entries will close on Sunday, September 21.
Scarecrows then will be on display from September 21 to the 30.
Rosettes and prizes will be awarded on Sunday September 28 at 6pm in the church.
