Sporting pupils were honoured for their achievements on the field, track and water.

Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School held their annual end of year Sports Presentation evening organised by the Physical Education team.

The idea was conceived by the then head of PE, Matt Barratt, who has just left the school to take up a deputy headship in Bradford.

And the school unveiled a legacy award in Mr Barratt’s name with Nick Truelove taking the trophy for his worthy contribution to school.

Preston North End footballer Tom Clarke presented the trophies and prizes to pupils.

The school’s pupils were recognised for achievements in sports including karting, kick boxing, karate, squash, skiing and water polo.

The audience were also apprised of former HLHS students’ progress with a generous amount of talented individuals having reached international standard in disciplines of football, bike trials, judo, rugby league, swimming, water polo and dressage.

The event took place at the John Smith’s Stadium.
