A STUDENT rallied her friends to raise money for a cancer charity.

Year 12 Hipperholme Grammar School student Aaminah Aqeel organised a coffee morning in school to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care.

Aaminah baked cakes and buns which she sold in the dining room at morning break with the help of her friends Marianne Suddards, Laura Godlington, Steph Teale, James Brown, Charlotte Jackson and Shaiba Afzal.

They raised £156 for Macmillan.

“I saw an advertisement for a Macmillan Coffee Morning and just thought it would be a nice thing to do,” said Aaminah, whose grandfather has benefited from the support of Macmillan Nurses.
