IT’S not for me or any member of the public to question the teachers going on strike for more dosh, but I think ‘hocus pocus’.

Don’t the teachers get a good perk with the amount of holidays they receive. Two weeks at Easter to give an example; far too long. What other jobs get their six weeks, then the extra day for training? Every public holiday going, with extensions to the amount of time they are off.

I firmly believe the children suffer by this as their learning is held back and they are then pushed harder when they return to school. Dealing with some children can be stressful. I accept this, but teachers are aware of this before they decide to take the job on. Cash may be a problem to them, but holidays aren’t.
