Organisers of a sporting exhibition in Huddersfield were “delighted” with its opening night success.

The history of Rugby League in Huddersfield is being traced at the Heritage Exhibition in the Tolson Museum.

And it is expected to be a big hit with visitors to the town for the Rugby League World Cup.

One of the organisers, Brian Heywood, said: “We had invited 140 people but 200 turned up and we are delighted.

“The exhibition runs until Easter and I am sure it will prove very popular.”

The exhibitions look at the glory days of the Huddersfield side, the stars of “The Team of All Talents” and more modern displays from the Huddersfield Giants.
