WHAT is it that makes Huddersfield a place worth visiting?

It would be a good idea to find out, for TripAdvisor say more and more people are searching for Huddersfield on their site.

The website is a place for people to do some research on their chosen destination, read reviews and find out what other people say about it.

The company says searches for Huddersfield shot up 236% in the first 11 months of 2012.

While they wouldn’t give precise figures, it shows that the town is attracting attention further afield.

There’s plenty of things to interest visitors – the scenery, tours of Last of the Summer Wine land, the architecture and even champion sports teams.

But are there things which put tourists off? That’s worth knowing too.

Tourism chiefs should find out what brings people to Huddersfield, how much they bring to the economy and make sure we protect and enhance such attractions.

Huddersfield as a holiday hotspot could well bring greater benefits than first thought.
