NORTH Huddersfield’s newest academy has received a cash injection for its breakfast club – thanks to Huddersfield Town and partners.

Christ Church Academy in Deighton has accepted £1,000 from Town’s club partner’s Fired Up Corporation towards the Early Kick-Off Breakfast Club.

And to seal the deal Town’s striker Lee Novak dropped in to the school to meet students and sign memorabilia.

Formerly Christ Church Woodhouse Junior, Infant and Early Years, the school became an academy last October.

And it is keen to continue further cementing links with the community.

Mandy Taylor, the Town Foundation’s corporate fundraising officer, said: “I’d like to thank Richard and Fired Up Corporation for their fantastic contribution to our Breakfast Clubs.

“Monday’s launch was one of the biggest yet and it was great for Richard to see what a tremendous impact the donation is already having.

“The Early Kick-Off Breakfast Clubs have been very successful since their launch three months ago and we’re very excited that the support we have garnered in the area has allowed us to expand the project to more schools, including Christ Church Academy, in Deighton.

“It’s fantastic to see the impact that we’re already having through little stories such as Mamah’s – it makes it all worthwhile.”

Richard Kaye of Fired Up Corporation added:

“It was fantastic to see the kids setting themselves up for the day with a healthy breakfast and enjoying the early morning interaction.

“I wish HTAFC and the foundation every success with this initiative.”

Made possible by generous donations to the foundation from individuals as well as several Huddersfield Town Club Partners, Early Kick-Off initially launched in November last year at five specially selected primary schools.
