THE COLNE Valley Museum volunteers are hosting a double event in the run up to Golcar Lily Day.

First the Golcar Ginnel Trail will be launched today at 2pm outside the museum.

A £600 grant from mobile phone firm O2 has provided the plaques which mark the Ginnel Trail and two representatives from the company will present the cheque to the Golcar Lily Environment Group who devised the trail. Golcar Lily Day this year is on Saturday May 9.

To celebrate this event the group are staging a Massed Bubble Blow and all are welcome to come and blow bubbles and walk the trail.

Meanwhile, inside the museum’s Victorian kitchen, from 12.30pm onwards, a team of volunteers will be baking some of their wonderful bread. Visitors can watch how it’s done and then buy some to take home for tea. There will also be Easter craft activities for all the family including an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt.

And visitors also have the opportunity to view the current exhibition Stepping Back in Time, a display of vintage footwear including many items from the archive collection of Shaw & Hallas.
