Rural ?police are warning about a spate of thefts of catalytic converters from trucks and 4x4s. Catalytic converters contain valuable precious metals and thieves target vehicles that are easy to get under without the need for a jack. The vehicles that have been targeted have been mainly been the Toyota Hi-Lux pick-up truck and 4x4s. Here are tips to keep your vehicle safe:

Park your vehicle in a locked garage where possible - out of sight, out of mind!

If you don’t have a garage, park in a well lit area.

Consider marking your Catalytic Converter with a unique mark - there are companies that can do this for you. Search on the internet for one in the area.

There are Catalytic Converter alarm systems and security devices which you can buy and get fitted.
