A LANDMARK pub has a role in a spooky new TV drama.

Nont Sarah’s, which is on New Hey Road in Scammonden, will feature in the BBC series entitled Remember Me.

A number of scenes have already been filmed in Huddersfield for the three-part supernatural thriller.

The star-studded cast includes Monty Python’s Michael Palin and Mark Addy from The Full Monty.

The historic pub was recently taken over by Jan Booth.

She said that Addy spent time filming at the premises.

Jan said: “They couldn’t resist the beautiful sweeping windows for one of Mark’s scenes.

“They spent half a day with us.”

Much of the filming for the drama, to be shown later this year, will be done at North Light Film Studios in Armitage Bridge.

Other scenes will be shot in Marsden, Slaithwaite and the Holme Valley as well as further afield in Scarborough.

In it Palin plays a mysterious care home resident who is the only witness to a violent death.

Nont Sarah’s was boarded up for some time but Jan plans to re-launch it as a community hub.

The former pub has already hosted meetings of a psychic club.

It has long had a reputation for being haunted and strange lights in the air above the pub have been reported.

Medium and psychic Annie Conboy, who runs monthly meetings there, has described the building as a hotbed of paranormal activity.
