Brighouse
Brighouse and Rastrick Band host their Christmas Carol Concert at Central Methodist Church, Brighouse on Saturday, December 15. There’s a matinee concert with the Halifax Young Singers and an evening concert at 7.15pm. Tickets from Ryecorn Wholefoods, Bethel Street, Brighouse.
Elland
A social group is open to new members who’d like to meet new people. The Chit Chat group is held in the Canon Winter church hall on Charles Street, Elland, on the second and fourth Wednesday in the month from 1.30pm until 3.30pm. A Christmas party takes place on Wednesday, December 12. Admission is £2 which includes, cake, coffee, tea and entertainment.
All Saints Church holds a coffee morning and bring and buy in the Canon Winter Centre, Charles Street, Elland on Saturday, December 15 from 10am-midday. All welcome.
Elland Church of England hosts a carol service at All Saints Church on Tuesday, December 18 at 1.30pm.
Rastrick
The Accord Singers will perform a concert at St John’s Church on Sunday, December 16 from 7pm -9.15pm. It includes secular pieces of Christmas songs interposed with light-hearted readings of prose and poems all on a broad Christmas theme.
There’s a blood donation day on Friday, December 14, at St John’s Church, from 1-9pm.
Calderdale
On Friday, December 14, Halifax Minster hosts a Christmas Cracker Concert by Calderdale Music Service. Young musicians are performing in a Christmas Calderdale Youth Wind Band, Calderdale Music Service Choir and Calderdale Music Service Brass Band. It’s at 7pm and tickets are £7 for adults and £5 for, concessions.
On December 13, 18 and 20 Shibden Hall hosts Christmas wreath making. Learn how to make a traditional Christmas wreath to decorate your home. Sessions run from 12.30pm-2pm. To book call 01422 352246.
