LOWER VALLEY: Two people have been arrested for being drunk and disorderly in Brighouse. Police are stepping patrols to stop drink drivers taking to the roads around Christmas and New Year. They’ll be conducting checks early mornings and late at night.
Brighouse: Speed checks will be held on main roads around the town. Police checks will take place along Huddersfield Road, Wakefield Road and Bradford Road over the coming weeks. At the request of Brighouse Ward Forum, they will also be on Clifton Common.
LOWER VALLEY: Residents have been asked to report suspicious activity around derelict properties. Pc Liam Hay said that scrap metal thieves often used Transit vans to conceal their illegal activities, while genuine traders used flat-back and open vans.
