IN A weekend when Huddersfield has much to be proud of, the Examiner tells the story of Steve Boughen, another local resident whose contribution to the area is to be admired.

Though he lost his leg in an accident, Steve, of Skelmanthorpe, was determined not to let his disability hold him back and now has a new challenge, helping other disabled people to find work.

It is a job which would seem to suit Steve perfectly.

For he knows at first hand what it is like to leave a job he loved and have to find a new career path.

Steve’s injury meant he had to leave the job with the RAF that he loved. But since then, he has worked hard to make new opportunities for himself.

And as he has sought employment, he has helped others to update their CVs, write letters and do all the other work that jobseekers have to face.

Now he has the opportunity, working for Remploy, to use his experiences and skills to support disabled and disadvantaged jobseekers as they hunt for work. They could not be in better hands.
