NEWS: Here's the latest update on the fatal stabbing of a 37-year-old woman in Huddersfield, which took place at 9:32pm last night.

Police have launched a murder enquiry and confirmed that they had apprehended a 39-year-old man at the scene.

NEWS: A cyclist who was  injured in a crash this morning is being treated for serious head injuries at Leeds General Infirmary.

The 40-year-old was taken to hospital by air ambulance following the accident, which happened on Wakefield Road, near the junction with Lascelles Hall Road.

The road was closed but re-opened around 1pm.

A popular charity coffee shop in Linthwaite could close following recommendations by planning officers that an application to run it be rejected.

Ruddi's Coffee Shop and Bistro had been granted a temporary license and are now waiting on a decision to keep the premises open on a permanent basis.

WEATHER:  I hope you all made the most of the good weather at the weekend because according to the Met Office, it's not going to last!

Heavy rain has been predicted for tomorrow and Thursday, whilst cloud is expected to cover the town on Wednesday.

Let's just hope they're as wrong as they were last week when they predicted heavy rain on Sunday!

NEWS: Campaigners marched against plans to build new homes in Mirfield.

The rally was staged in the town at the weekend after members of Save Mirfield, Project Mirfield and the Lady Heton Action group joined forces.

They want to fight plans to build new homes which they say will change the face of the town.

Bellway Homes has submitted a planning application for 135 new homes on Balderstone Hall Fields off Hepworth Lane.

NEWS: Machete raiders who robbed Almondbury store - do you recognise them?

Detectives investigating a knife point robbery have released CCTV stills to try and track down the gang.

The robbery happened at the One Stop Shop on Fernside Avenue in Almondbury , around 10:20pm on April 10, when four men entered the shop demanding cash and threatening staff with knives and machetes.

NEWS: A charity coffee shop and bistro opened just weeks ago may have to shut down.

Planning officers have recommended that an application to run Ruddi’s Coffee Shop and Bistro in Linthwaite should be rejected even though the new venture is earning them vital funds.

The charity had to apply for a change of use of the former shop in Manchester Road.

They were granted a temporary licence to run the cafe and bistro but now have to wait on a decision by councillors at the Huddersfield planning sub committee.
