YOUNGSTERS from a Liversedge school went for a big footballing day out.

Class 2 from Hartshead Junior and Infant School, led by teacher Mrs Alison Bray, went to Anfield, legendary home of Liverpool FC.

The trip was to support the class topic 'Football'.

The children had an educational tour of the stadium which included the chance to sit in the famous Kop terrace, go into the home and away dressing rooms and pop into the press room where journalists write their match reports.

The youngsters also had their photographs taken with one of the club’s many trophies.

Mrs Bray said she chose Liverpool because of the club’s long history and tradition and said: “All the children and supporting adults had a fantastic and memorable day.”
