DANCERS and singers from the Bernadette Heys School of Dance wowed audiences with a range of musical performances.

With numbers from West Side Story and Shrek, more that 600 people turned out to watch the pupils’ performance.

The school, which is run by Bernadette Heys and Yvette Slaherty, is normally based at Marsden Liberal Club, but for this annual show they moved to the theatre at Colne Valley Specialist Arts College.

Bernadette said: “It went very well. We perform this September show every year to raise money for charity.

“Our charities this year included Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Kirkwood Hospice, The Maxine Molson Cancer Trust and Colne Valley Specialist Art College.

“The students who are all aged seven or above performed fantastically well.

“Together with our junior show – which includes pupils seven and under – back in May – we hoped to have raised a large amount of money for all of our chosen charities.”
