WELL done to Brighouse company Millers Oils for winning the Queen’s Award for International Trade in recognition of “exceptional” growth in overseas sales over the past three years.

The company employs 100 people and it’s great to report on a success story when so many other businesses are struggling just to survive.

A decision in 2009 to invest heavily in its future by building a state-of-the-art technology centre to support the development of advanced new oil blends has paid off.

The company has given hope to others by showing what can be achieved even in tough and turbulent economic times, proving that business people always need to look at the bigger picture.

And that’s often beyond our shores.
