Newsome South Methodist Church hosted a charity coffee morning recently.
Mince pies, cakes and coffee fuelled the visitors on a sunny Saturday morning.
Community cards were sold as well as Christmas and general greeting cards, raising £38 to support the work towards the Welcome Centre in Huddersfield.
Growing Newsome offered a fine array of jams and chutneys, and there was even some of the Minister’s chutney for sale.
The coffee morning marked the start of the Advent season and £68 was raised to send to the Philippines appeal.
