A DRAMA group is gearing up for its annual panto.

‘Q’ Trinity Drama Group, based in Mirfield, is staging Babes in the Wood next week.

Tickets are now on sale for the three shows which take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday January 23, 24 and 25.

The group, previously based at Trinity Methodist Church in Huddersfield Road, now meets at Old Bank Working Men’s Club.

The group, which stages this year’s panto at the club, had to leave the church after extensive refurbishment work.

Last year’s panto, Puss in Boots, was held at Castle Hall Academy.

A full dress rehearsal for this year’s production was held on Sunday and final preparations are now underway.

Director Bryan Middleham said: “We have been rehearsing since mid-September so if we are not ready now we never will be!

“It promises to be a good family panto and we hope everybody will enjoy it.”

Mr Middleham said the group had put on pantomimes every January since the mid-1990s.

The group needs more cast members in their 30s and 40s.

The cast includes: Rosemary Raine (Blondel); Keith Senior (Miss Lavinia Fitt); Harry Stephenson (Jack); Bethany Abbott (Jill); Abi Fisher (Dora/Outlaw); Jessica Auty (Betsy/Gypsy);

Cain Jolly (Ned/Outlaw); Ellie Hemingway (Emily/Gypsy); and Nicola Abbott (Meg).

Also, Bev Auty (Edwina, Lady Mouldring); Bryan Middleham (Edmund, Lord Mouldring); Ken Robson (Lenny Late); Eleanor Stephenson (Ernie Early); Mia Powell (Mr Bayley); Helen Walker (Robin Hood);
