1) After a weekend of drifting snow, bitter winds and sub-zero temperatures, weathermen are warning of more snow for Easter. Snow fell on Huddersfield for 45 hours solid with wind whipping it into drifts of up to 20ft over the hills.

4) Two youngsters have been left heartbroken by the death of their pet cat. Kyra and Kielan Oates had looked after Fred for the past two years. But now the Linthwaite youngsters and their mum Jodie have seen the cat die of anti-freeze poisoning – the latest in a spate in Huddersfield.

5) Council workers have built a snow wall – to stop drivers ignoring “Road Closed” signs. Oldham Council have piled up snow on the A635 Greenfield Road which runs to Holmfirth. It is to stop drivers causing problems on the weather-ravaged moorland road.
