“Waste of tax” and “A catalogue of disasters and a reckless use of taxpayers’ money,” said Barry Sheerman. Was he debating MPs’ expenses claims? No. Mr Sheerman was complaining about the cost of the rebuild of Moldgreen Community Primary School. His remarks concern the siting and the alleged build problems that the school has encountered since reopening.
If the school had been built on the Ravensknowle Park site, the Moldgreen/Dalton area would have lost more green space. Also, the area where the old school was demolished would now have been built on, creating its own social problems.
