LOWER HOPTON: May 3: Burglars broke into Lower Hopton News in Calder Road. They smashed the front window and reached in to steal items of food and drink. They returned 20 minutes later and entered the shop through the broken window. They failed to smash open the cigarette cabinet but stole scratch cards and sweets before fleeing.

MIRFIELD: May 3: A catapult or BB gun was fired at a window of a house in Bracken Hill, causing a small hole in the outer pane of the double-glazing.

May 4: Intruders damaged a lock on a 7ft gate at a house in Sunnybank Road. A security light was triggered and the householder looked out to see two men running away.

LIVERSEDGE: May 1: Burglars attacked a patio door at a house in Huddersfield Road but failed to break in. They smashed the lock on a UPVC side door and got into the kitchen. They stole car keys and a handbag and drove off in the car.

May 1: Copper piping and lead was stolen from the yard of a house in Church Road.

NORRISTHORPE: May 7: Raiders forced a window at Blues fish shop in Norristhorpe Lane, reached through and stole a charity box from the counter.

May 10: Raiders stole bikes from a shed in Ripley Road.

HECKMONDWIKE: May 9: Paint stripper was poured over a vehicle in Upper George Street.

RAVENSTHORPE: May 4: Diesel was drained from a tank in the yard at Chiquita UK in Low Mill Lane.
