IT’S brilliant news that a Huddersfield glass company has landed a contract to provide replacement glass for the landmark London Eye.

It is one of the top tourist attractions in the UK and Novaglaze Gardner and Newton must have fought off some stiff competition during the tender process to win such a prestigious job.

It just goes to show that even though some of our more traditional industries may have declined over the years, others have sprung up which reflect magnificently on the town.

And this is a company that is intensely proud of its Huddersfield roots.

It proved that recently by donating 2,000 panes of glass to the Victorian conservatory in Greenhead Park.

Novaglaze Gardner and Newton is a testament to the talent, ingenuity and skill we still have in Huddersfield.
