Best time to plant jubilee oak tree

THE Almondbury Bank Woodland Preservation Group has planted an oak tree to celebrate the Queen’s jubilee year.

Stephen Kennedy explained the planting was carried out this month as “The best time for tree planting is November or early December.

“June was too hot and dry”

A carved stone plaque will mark the event.
