If you thought the dry, settled weather is here to stay, think again.

As we head into next week the weather prediction models are pretty clear now that a strong jet stream is going to develop out of Canada later in the weekend and push across the Atlantic, bringing us wet and windy weather by Tuesday. This is good news for the gardens as only 12mm of rain has fallen so far this month. This is less than a 20% of the normal for this time in March if you take an average for Huddersfield about 66mm for the month. So if you are planning to get into the garden, now is a good time. Just one caveat. If you wait until Sunday evening you will have the extra hour’s light in the evening from the clocks going forward on Saturday night one hour to BST. That is, if it doesn’t rain!
