WELL DONE to Colne Valley High School head teacher Carol Gormley.

In all schools there should be zero tolerance of bad behaviour, inappropriate dress or language.

There is very little teachers can do; their hands are well and truly tied. So if exclusion is the only disciplinary action left it should be used.

Children must understand that school is a privilege we have in this country – many don’t – and taxpayers pay for this privilege to be available.

The least pupils can do is attend, behave properly and, hopefully, get a good education.

May I suggest that the parents who don’t agree with Ms Gormley excluding their children look at things from the school’s point of view and back the school. Perhaps your children will benefit from it and become better human beings because of it.

Children need boundaries and it’s the responsibility of parents and schools to set them.
