SADLY I failed to watch Thursday’s racing from the Cheltenham Festival and thus missed the Ryannair Chase.
It was a race that I had particularly wanted to witness given the sponsors.
There was every chance that the race would set off from Cheltenham as expected but actually conclude at Haydock Park much later than expected.
Also I wanted to see the weigh-in as jockeys were charged an extra £10 for bringing a saddle and a whip, and then suddenly found themselves having to scramble through their silks for their credit cards as the lady at scales pointed out that their luggage was overweight.
