THE great thing about people in marketing is that they can unwittingly set their clients up for an unnecessary fall – especially if they fail to see the potential for it.

The arrival of Mick Potter at Bradford Bulls as coach has obviously sparked someone in the promotion department’s imagination as to just what can be done with the name Potter.

The upshot is that the Odsal club’s media guide for Super XVI (pictured right) has been given the full Harry Potter treatment.

But after the drubbing they took at the Galpharm Stadium in the derby clash last weekend it is hard not to start suggesting such alternatives as ‘Michael Potter and the Vanishing Defence’ or ‘Michael Potter and the Deathly Silence at the away end’ and even ‘Michael Potter and the Half-hearted tackles’.
