And this week I would almost certainly have remained oblivious to the fact that a company from Sherman Oaks in California was providing the ICC’s Global Cricket Academy in Dubai with a ‘cyber-based’ bowling simulator which has been developed from a training aid that has been used ‘very successfully’ in baseball circles.
Even more exciting is that I have personally been invited to try out the ProBatter PX2 Cricket system at a venue near me soon.
I am just surprised that news of my batting exploits in the Huddersfield Evening League has travelled as far as the States and I am looking forward to finding a setting on the simulator that accurately duplicates taking the crease at Outlane cricket club with the light fading, the temperature at minus something and with the snow flurries whipping across the M62 blowing straight into that batsman’s face.
