I HOPE that with the help of your readers I may be able to find some things that seem to have vanished.
I know it’s a long shot, but I beg and hope that you and your readers can assist in the retrieval of these increasingly rare items.
I have seen some of the new breed of what we have lost, but they don’t seem to have the same hunting techniques and, more often than not, fail in their attempts to catch anything.
They are of course the Community Support Police Officers, who have less stopping power than a chocolate fireguard. Where have all the real police gone? The ones who can actually arrest people, the ones we all pay for year in and year out. Every general election we get promised some, but maybe the breeding programme has failed.
As summer approaches and all the criminals, vandals and followers of the cult of anti-social behaviour come out I hope that the local government can find some real police to actually do something.
Instead of just watching the stolen bikes flying around the estates they could observe the drug dealers who peddle their wares on every corner. The real police might actually catch the burglars, get the vandals and remove the stereos of the seemingly hard of hearing teenagers at 2am. I beg the relevant departments, please find our lost police force.
