A HORSE attacked by a soccer yob is recovering well in West Yorkshire.

Bud was one of the West Yorkshire Police horses drafted into Newcastle to police the derby game against Sunderland.

He was punched as fans clashed in the city centre.

But now Bud is back home in his paddock safe and well.

A total of 29 supporters have now been arrested after sporadic violence spread across Newcastle city centre.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Bud is safe in his stable and appears fine.

“All our horses are fit and well, resting and relaxed.”
