PARKING misery could be nearing an end for patients and visitors at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust have applied for planning permission for 117 new car parking spaces at the Acre Street site in Lindley.
These would be in addition to two multi-storey car parks as part of hospital development plans.
Alterations are to be made for safer pedestrian access, plus ticket barriers to control traffic flow.
These measures will no doubt be welcomed by patients and visitors, who have long voiced complaints about the car park.
Difficulty finding spaces and problems for pedestrians trying to negotiate the busy car park have been hot topics, as has the cost of parking.
This is one point the measures do not address and there will doubtless be some people who are not satisfied until this crucial point is dealt with.
