Marathon man Iain Hill Sharp has given a hospice a £2,133 boost.

The runner has donated funds raised in the Hardmoors 110 Ultramarathon to Overgate Hospice.

The 110 mile trail, traversing hill and dale, has to be completed in less than 36 hours, and Iain managed this amazing feat despite a severe ankle sprain in the 27th mile.

Iain works as a prison officer at Armley Prison in Leeds and he attends the De Warren Masonic Lodge in Halifax, which has chosen the hospice as their Charity of the Year this year.

Chair of the Lodge Dave Whitran accompanied Iain as they presented the Hospice team with a cheque, which will support the hospice as it cares for people with terminal and life-limiting illnesses.
