Work will be starting at the beginning of next month on the refurbishment of Lepton Recreation Ground.

The works, funded by Huddersfield Area Committee, will see a repainted youth shelter next to the Skate Park, new footpaths and seating.

Also included is a petanque/boules court funded by Lepton Community Link.

Almondbury Liberal Democrat Councillor Linda Wilkinson said: “Once this work is completed Lepton will have a vibrant open space which I hope will be used by Lepton residents young and old”.

In March Linda revealed she had received dozens of comments on the proposals to upgrade the space behind the Methodist Church.

She said residents were anxious to see it upgraded to make it a multi-purpose resource for all the community.
