Residents are being urged to support a children’s charity by clearing out their wardrobes.

The Huddersfield branch of BHS has teamed up with Clothes Aid for the campaign.

Participants are asked to fill a large bag with their unwanted clothes, shoes, belts and bags.

These will then be turned into pounds for Clothes Aid’s official partner, the NSPCC.

The money will help make a massive difference to the lives of children and young people in West Yorkshire and across the UK.

It could pay for more ChildLine counsellors to answer contacts from children by phone and online.

The money could also help the charity deal with more adults concerned about a child and develop its pioneering services for children who have suffered abuse and harm.

Clothes Aid is the charity’s official clothes collection company and has guaranteed to raise £410,000 over 12 months.

Alison Roberts, fundraising account manager for the NSPCC, said: “Clearing out old clothes is a great way for people to support the NSPCC.

“The charity relies on the generosity of the general public and the money raised will help to continue to protect vulnerable children.”

For every full bag of clothing donated, BHS will give customers a £5 voucher to spend in store.

They can call 08450 722780 before September 30 to arrange a convenient collection time.
