PARAMEDIC Sarah Boothroyd didn’t think twice about putting herself in danger to help someone else.

She spent two hours comforting a crash victim inside the wreckage of her car while the emergency services worked to free the driver.

For Sarah, she was just doing her job.

For the motorist, Sarah’s presence would have been an enormous comfort during a testing and worrying time.

Sarah was last week rewarded for her bravery with a trip to the Buckingham Palace garden party.

It’s touching that Sarah’s actions were recognised in such a unique way.

Her experience highlights the dangers she and her colleagues face with every call they receive to life-threatening and emergency incidents.
