African projects

I COULDN’T help noticing that in the Examiner’s catalogue of local charity shops (October 26) there was no mention of the Christian African Relief Trust (CART) shop at Summer Street, Lockwood.

With ample free parking space our shop offers the usual charity shop fare, clothing, toys, books, household goods, etc as well as a selection of good quality furniture.

The proceeds are used to support relief work in Africa, mainly by sending containers of locally donated goods to a dozen different African destinations.

We also support a chicken hatchery project in Kenya, tree planting in Malawi, Uganda and Ghana as well as financing boreholes for fresh water in a number of countries and building and equipping a school in Liberia.

Our charity shop, like all charity shops, provides a service to our customers who, in shopping with us, can be assured that they are also supporting a worthy cause.
