Strictly Come Dancing maybe over for another year but it’s time to dust of your dancing shoes as new classes have launched in Huddersfield.

Taster sessions were held before Christmas ahead of the launch of a new dance class for the over 55s.

The classes based at The Zone, run by Huddersfield Community Trust, are hosting beginners Ballroom and Latin dance class for all ages.

So if you’ve been inspired to get your dancing shoes by Strictly winner Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev why not give it a go.

Resident Dance instructor at the Dance Zone Sam Sykes is excited about being able to run the class on behalf of Kirklees Council.

Sam said: “I’m really looking forward to teaching a new skill to those who haven’t danced before along with being able to re-engage those who have danced in the past and would like to dance again.”

“Shall We Dance is a basic Ballroom and Latin dance class for all ages and abilities. Whether you are a complete novice or revisiting fond memories this class is not to be missed. The class is also the perfect way for attendees to stay active whilst having fun and learning the basic steps of the Cha-cha-cha, Waltz, Quickstep and Jive.

Regular weekly Shall We Dance sessions will commence in January from Wednesday January 7 between 7-8pm.
